Week One is in the books. I have been surprised that I already
feel some building excitement about the things I’ll discover in this course. I’m
looking forward to digging into my own skill set and figuring out if I have
what it takes to own and run my own business. There was a thought in one of the
readings this week that talked about finding something that you love. The suggestion
was to find something that you get lost doing for hours at a time. I love to
organize and create order out of chaos and wonder if I’d be able to create and
run a business around helping people clean up their garages and kitchen
cabinets? Going through all the reading and videos from this first week I feel
a little momentum building as well as a few doubts and questions. I definitely
don’t have any experience with branding or marketing so that material was a
little intimidating. I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself and tackle the
assignments week by week and hopefully by the end of this semester I’ll have a
much better understanding of my own desires and capabilities. If nothing else,
I may have some insight to offer my husband and his partners in their business.
There were a few thoughts on employees this week that I think would be very
beneficial for them.
